It is estimated that we will splash out over £1billion on gifts for our loved ones this Valentines and with an average spend of just £35…there must be an awful lot of romantics out there! It’s official; florists are men’s saviours for last minute Valentine shopping.

But if you really want to shower affection on the women in your life we have put together the ultimate Valentine’s guide to over indulgence…

Diamonds are a girl’s best friend and if you are looking to pop the question in 2011 the most expensive diamond ring in the world will set you back a cool £10.5m. A 9-carat blue diamond is the centrepiece of the Chopard Blue Diamond ring set on diamond shoulders with an 18-carat white gold band paved with more diamonds.

Whisk your special lady to Geneva on board the Boeing 747-8 VIP jet that you can purchase for £187million for a nights stay in the world’s most expensive hotel room at the Hotel President Wilson where the palatial Royal Penthouse Suite is £41,000 a night.

Set the mood with the ultimate luxury candle designed by Luxury Soy Candles for just over £3,000 and comes wrapped in more than just its beautiful black box with white bow. Around the piece of glass that surrounds the actual candle is a beautiful bracelet that’s bejewelled with 38 diamonds for a total of 2.23 carats, and they’re all set in 14K white gold.

Fill the air with the aroma of what has been affectionately called the ugly orchid and sold for a cool £127,000. We also sniffed around for a suitable perfume and found Clive Christian No. 1 perfume seems to be the World’s most expensive over the counter perfume available starting at just under £1,500 for a 1 oz. bottle.

Satisfy her sweet cravings with some Amedei Porcelana chocolate, priced £52 per 450 g (1 lb). It is the first chocolate in the world made from cocoa beans of a single variety, Porcelana, which, as its name suggests, is a translucent white colour. Only 20,000 packs are produced annually by the Italian chocolatier, Amedei and each box even has its own identity number!

Then head out in the sunshine with your pretty lady sporting a pair of Dolce and Gabanna sunglasses featuring gold frames surrounding brown-tinted lenses marked on both arms is the Dolce and Gabanna logo, encrusted in diamonds. At just under a quarter of a £million they are the World’s most expensive eyewear.

This is one pair of sunglasses you better be sure not to lose.
