The 27-year-old (pictured in final training) will host a charity auction and gala ball at the Holland House Hotel in Cardiff on October24 to help raise more funds for the Guide Dogs and the International Glaucoma Association before he sets off on his expedition on November 7.
From November to January Optical Express will donate £1 from every sight test preformed in its practices to Mr Hudson’s ‘Vision South Pole’ challenge.
Mr Cameron, who is expected to experience temperatures as low as -30 degrees during the 60 day mission, said: “By making this journey, I hope to raise public awareness of the importance of eye health examinations in helping to prevent many of the common causes of visual impairment” For more details, or to contact Mr Hudson visit www.visionsouthpole.org.
