Blending glamour with green, the world’s most eco-friendly glasses are now available nationwide thanks to Optical Express.
Created by renowned Italian luxury eyewear designer MODO – loved by Leonardo Di Caprio and Hayden Panetierre – these cat-walk ready fashionable frames are made from 95% recycled material.
The self-titled ECO (earth conscious optics) frames fuse fashion and sustainability, ideal for the ethical consumer. They come in a diverse choice of styles from bold colour pops for the fashion-forward individual to contemporary crafted frames, without the designer price tag.
Ann-Marie Fyfe, a buyer at Optical Express, was delighted to introduce the new frames to a UK audience:
“ECO frames offer our customers uncompromising style and craftsmanship as well as a unique opportunity to make a huge difference to our planet.
Sustainability should be attainable to all and this desirable, quality collection offers that at a fair price without sacrificing style.”
In addition to using 95% recycled and re-purposed materials to create the frames, the collection is packaged in recycled materials and accompanied by an easy to use mail-in recycling kit for old, unwanted frames.
What’s more, for each pair of ECO frames purchased, a tree is donated to Trees for the Future, a non-profit organisation that has been helping communities around the world plant trees since 1989. To date they have planted 791,202 trees; with a target of 1 million by the end of 2014.
