Can I use eye drops with my contact lenses?

Yes, but be careful which ones you use and why.

Only use drops that are intended for contact lens wearers – usually preservative-free and not too viscous so they do not blur vision.

If you are considering using eye drops, you must consider the reason why you believe you need to use them carefully. Occasional lubrication when eyes are dry can be fine but if your eye is persistently red or uncomfortable you may be covering up the real reason by using eye drops to soothe it. You should discuss this with your optometrist prior to using eye drops as there may be an underlying issue that the eye drops would hide such as a damaged/soiled lens or unsuitable lens type.
