How do you perform intraocular lens treatment?

The eye is anaesthetised with eye drops and a short acting sedative is provided, therefore very little will be remembered in respect to the procedure which typically takes around five minutes.

A small incision of less than 3mm in size is made at the edge of the cornea (outer window of the eye). The natural lens may be removed (for a replacement procedure) and a synthetic lens placed through the tiny incision.

The lens implanted within the eye is then a permanent fixture to aid the focusing ability of your eye by overcoming your eye prescription.
