Will the cornea heal fully after laser eye surgery?

In the case of LASIK the corneal flap seals itself to become very secure within a matter of hours. By the point of one year post operatively, it is in many cases so well sealed that it cannot be re-lifted for any purpose.

In the case of LASEK the eye is sealed within a matter of a few days. A contact lens is placed onto the eye in the interim to aid comfort. Whilst the outer layers are soft in the first few days, the eye sensation returns to normal within the first few weeks of the procedure.
