A fully qualified and registered medical practitioner, Mr Daniel is a Consultant Ophthalmologist with extensive clinical experience. Running his own private practice for over a decade, he has performed in excess of 6,000 surgical procedures, specialising in both laser vision correction and IOL/cataract surgery. Mr Daniel holds a substantive NHS position in the Northern Ireland health system.
Mr Daniel obtained his Bachelor of Medicine and Surgery in 1998 and went on to receive multiple postgraduate qualifications, including a Diploma in Anaesthetics and a Diploma in Primary Emergency Care. Launching his own private practice in Gauteng, South Africa, he quickly built an outstanding reputation on both a national and international level, treating over 14,000 patients.
Over the course of his career, Mr Daniel has mentored numerous medical students, medical officers, and registrars in ophthalmology and has gained extensive teaching experience, acting as a frequent guest lecturer at the Graduate Institute of Optometry. He has been involved in various charity projects and has founded the Bonani Foundation, which provides free visual screening to underprivileged children.
Mr Daniel attends regular conferences, meetings and workshops in order to stay abreast of developments in the ophthalmic industry, including annual meetings of the European Society of Cataract & Refractive Surgeons and the United Kingdom and Ireland Society of Cataract & Refractive Surgeons
