Your iScan report

Every patient who has a full eye test at Optical Express receives their own personalised iScan report. It includes details of the health, prescription and diagnostics of each eye, and it’s exclusive to us.

What is an iScan report?

It's simple.

It’s a revolution in eyecare – a one-of-a-kind report which is completely personalised. It details the unique characteristics of your eyes, and gives detailed information on your eye health and prescription. It can flag up issues with some aspects of your general health, too.

iScan allows us to monitor any significant changes in your eye health, and in areas of general health, in the future. It’s an invaluable tool in looking after your wellbeing.

What does an iScan report include?

Your iScan report includes the detailed results of your eye test. It will identify early signs of disease, such as glaucoma and cataracts, as well as check for a number of other health conditions. Early diagnosis can be essential in preventing or delaying more serious damage.

An iScan report is sent by email to every patient attending a full eye test or eye surgery consultation at Optical Express.

What are the benefits of an iScan Report?

  • Eye prescription

Changes in eye prescription can be monitored through your iScan report simply and methodically.

  • Cataract

The density of a cataract and the effect that it has on your visual acuity, can be tracked by your iScan report.

  • Diabetic retinopathy

Diabetes is a serious health condition, which can have a huge impact on vision.

  • Hypertensive retinopathy

Raised blood pressure and signs of heart disease can be visible in your eyes and should be monitored for screening purposes.

  • Macular degeneration

This is a leading cause of blindness. Macular changes and developments can be monitored via the iScan report.

  • Glaucoma

Glaucoma is an eye condition where your optic nerve is damaged by the pressure of the fluid inside your eye. It can be detected during an eye test by monitoring simple trends, such as raised IOPs, visual field loss and changes in the optic nerve.

  • Keratoconus

This condition changes the shape of your eye's outer window, but it can be identified by keratometry and pentacam instruments during an eye test.

  • Informed consent for surgical procedures

iScan forms part of our informed consent process for patients who are considering eye surgery. Your personalised report will provide you with a greater understanding of your vision and required treatment.
