Dry eye treatment for only £395 per eye

We offer a range of dry eye solutions, including the revolutionary LipiFlow treatment.

What is dry eye?

Dry eye can often make eyes feel gritty and dry, and cause them to water a lot. It’s caused by blockages in the oil-producing glands in the eyelids. This in turn causes the water in tears to evaporate more quickly than normal because of the lack of oil.

9 out of 10 dry eye symptoms are caused by Meibomian Gland Dysfunction (MGD).

By using Lipiflow, we can target the cause of MGD rather than just manage its symptoms, and provide relief for the patient. Lipiflow sends gentle pulses of heat and pressure to clear the blocked glands, allowing them to function normally again.

It’s a revolutionary treatment, and best of all it’s virtually painless. Eyepieces are placed on the patient’s eyelids, where they apply gentle heat and intermittent pressure to unblock the glands.

86% of patients with Dry Eye are likely to benefit from Lipiflow therapy. If your dry eyes are affecting your day to day life, Lipiflow could be the answer you’ve been looking for.

How does dry eye treatment work?

The LipiFlow Thermal Pulsation System from TearScience is one of the only treatments to target the leading cause of dry eye: blockages in the Meibomian glands.

Step 1

At your consultation, you'll be given an eye examination and a LipiView scan, which looks at your tear film in greater detail. This only takes around 10 minutes and if you're suitable for treatment, LipiFlow can be carried out on the same day.

Step 2

LipiFlow itself takes around 12 minutes per eye. It's a treatment which uses gentle pulses of heat and pressure to remove the blockages in your tear glands.

Step 3

Your Meibomian glands are gently opened up, allowing your body to create the natural oils that are essential for keeping your eyes moist and comfortable.

Any questions?

Below you can find the answers to our most frequently asked questions.

  • Will I be suitable for dry eye treatment?

The short answer is: The majority of patients who experience dry eye symptoms can benefit from this treatment

LipiFlow is a safe and effective treatment for Meibomian Gland Dysfunction (MGD), a leading cause of dry eye symptoms. MGD causes the small glands along the eyelids to become blocked, which then prevents natural oils from reaching the tear film and lubricating the eye. At your consultation, we'll carry out a detailed eye assessment and LipiScan diagnostic reports to determine your suitability for LipiFlow and your Optometrist will discuss these with you in detail.
  • What does dry eye treatment involve?

The short answer is: A gentle massage of the eyelids

LipiFlow treatment opens the eyelids' blocked glands by applying gentle pressure and heat. Patients who have had the treatment have told us that they found their treatment relaxing and some even likened it to a spa treatment for the eyes.
  • How long do the benefits of LipiFlow last?

The short answer is: As long as 18 months

Whilst results can vary from patient to patient, the majority report the benefits of treatment to last up to 18 months. For best results, repeated LipiFlow treatments are recommended at 12 to 18 month intervals.
  • How long does LipiFlow treatment take?

The short answer is: Around 12 minutes per eye or for both eyes simultaneously

You should expect to spend around one hour in the clinic on the day of your treatment. The treatment itself takes around 12 minutes to undertake and both eyes can usually be treated at the same time.
  • Where can I find a clinic?

The short answer is: In three locations across the UK

We currently offer LipiView assessments and LipiFlow treatments in Glasgow, Manchester and London.
