Your vision is incredibly important – and so, as your eyecare provider, we’d like to bring you some exciting news!

The Irish government has re-introduced a number of optical benefits to the Treatment Benefit Scheme, which means that if you’re eligible you’ll receive a voucher for a contribution towards optical services.

Optical Express accepts Treatment Benefit Scheme vouchers as full or part payment on the optical benefits covered.

Who’s eligible for the Treatment Benefit Scheme?

  • The Treatment Benefit Scheme is available to insured workers, the self-employed and retired people who have the required number of PRSI contributions.

What could I be entitled to?

    • A free Essential Eye Test every two calendar years.
    • A payment once every two calendar years which can be used towards one pair each of reading and distance glasses, or one pair of bifocals or varifocals.
    • Patients who need contact lenses on medical grounds may receive a payment of half their cost, up to a maximum of €500.

And we’re pleased to let you know that Optical Express can offer a range of free frames and lenses when a PRSI voucher is used. You also have the option to upgrade your frames or lenses by paying the difference.

If you’re eligible for any optical vouchers under the scheme, now might be a very good time to get in touch to make an appointment for an Essential Eye Test with Optical Express, and save money using your voucher.

We hope to have the pleasure of seeing you in our store soon!
