Am I suitable for laser eye surgery?

If you’ve been thinking about laser eye surgery, one of your thoughts might be around your suitability for the treatment. Good news: around 85% of adults are suitable, so there’s a good chance that you’ll be too.*

That said, everyone’s different so the best way to determine if you’re suitable for laser eye surgery is to come in for a consultation with one of our in-house clinical experts. That’s where your suitability for the treatment will be assessed. You’ll be advised on the best course of action should you decide to take the next step to crystal clear vision.

If any of the following apply to you, it may affect your suitability for laser eye surgery:

  • You’re under the age of 21
  • You have glaucoma
  • You suffer from severe dry eyes
  • You have diabetes
  • You have certain medical conditions such as rheumatoid arthritis
  • Your prescription has changed significantly or is very strong
  • You are pregnant or breastfeeding

But don’t worry, as said above, it really does come down to each individual and their circumstances. Even if one of the above conditions applies to you, determine for sure whether you’ll be able to have the treatment.
