Optical Express sets employees up for the working day with free breakfast

Optical Express, the UK’s leading private provider of private cataract surgery, laser eye surgery, and lens replacement surgery, has introduced a free breakfast programme for all employees across the country as part of an initiative to enhance staff wellbeing.

Each morning, at over 100 Optical Express clinics across the UK and Ireland, an array of breakfast options are available to every employee at no cost. The initiative, which has been running since August, forms part of a wider range of benefits that employees at Optical Express can take advantage of.

Stephen, Optometrist at Optical Express, Glasgow St Vincent’s Street, said:

“I love the free breakfasts, and the variety of fresh healthy food on offer is great. It’s a simple, everyday thing, but it has made a really positive impact to the start of my working day. The culture here is so supportive and it’s great that staff wellbeing is not only discussed but acted upon. This is just another reason why I’m so proud to work at Optical Express. The values of the firm reflect my own personal principles, for example it’s brilliant to be part of an environmentally conscious organisation like Optical Express. It’s great to know that you’re part of a team who are leading the way in the decarbonisation of the eye care sector.”

Optical Express places employee wellbeing as a central feature in its values. Other benefits on offer include; free laser eye surgery or lens replacement surgery for all colleagues, the opportunity for Optometrists to gain their Independent Prescribing qualification - fully funded by Optical Express; flexible working; a generous relocation package, welcome bonuses and salaries of up to £100K including bonuses and benefits. Employees can also take advantage of a private pension plan.

David Moulsdale, CEO and Founder of Optical Express, says:

“I am proud to be part of a company that prides itself on staff wellbeing and consistently looks for ways we can enhance the experience of our employees. Helping our colleagues in this way, is part of our commitment to care which is embedded in our culture. We understand that prioritising staff wellbeing is crucial to the experience and outcomes for patients, therefore we strive to enable colleagues to deliver the highest quality of care available.”
