Laser Eye SurgeryAugust 2022
Although already unhappy with the hassle that glasses and contact lenses were bringing to his daily life, it wasn’t until during the global COVID-19 pandemic that Kurt started to really consider laser eye surgery. With the stress of his glasses fogging up whilst having to wear a mask and also not always able wear his contact lenses due to working 12 hour shifts in a dusty environment, Kurt finally made the decision to go for his initial no-obligation consultation at our state of the art clinic in Birmingham.
When considering what the laser eye surgery experience would be like, Kurt admitted that he initially thought the surgery would be uncomfortable, so he was surprised and relieved to find the procedure to be pain free. Thanks to the clinic team and the level of care they provided Kurt on the day of his surgery he was able to relax, feeling comfortable and put at ease, describing his emotions on the day as “99% excited and only 1% nervous”.
With over £500 million invested in our clinics, state of the art technology and diagnostic equipment, Kurt was relaxed in knowing the laser eye surgery treatment he was receiving was of extremely high quality. Kurt now can’t believe the life-changing transformation in his vision.
Now that he has 20/20 vision Kurt is looking forward to being able to “push himself even further” when it comes to his favourite hobby, mountain biking. No longer feeling he needs to be overly cautious or worry about not being able to see any obstacles in his way, he is able to enjoy the adrenaline fuelled experience to the fullest.
Describing the biggest difference in his vision as being “The small little details you couldn’t see before”, he even joked that he can now see the cobwebs in the corner of a room that he’d missed even when wearing glasses.
For Kurt, Optical Express was the “obvious choice” when it came to choosing an eye care provider for his laser eye surgery, commenting, “Optical Express has made it, from the beginning, perfect for me.” For anyone considering vision correction surgery, Kurt’s advice is “just get that first consultation and you won’t look back.”
