Retinal tears are an eye condition that can cause distorted vision and black spots or streaks (floaters) in your sight.
Symptoms are generally quite mild. Sometimes you may not experience any. The condition can be treated and monitored.
Retinal tears occur when the retina — the light sensitive tissue at the back of your eye, develops small gaps. These gaps can cause retinal detachment in rare cases: a serious condition that requires quick treatment.
